Endpoints allow vRealize Automation to communicate with the vSphere environment and discover compute resources, collect data, and provision machines. There are various endpoint options are supported in vRA such as vSphere, Hyper-V & KVM. In this post we will see on How to configure vSphere endpoint in vRealize Automation.
vSphere Endpoint provides vRA to access the vSphere resources to create & manage virtual machines. So endpoint is the very important task which is to be configured before other tasks. You can create service account in your vSphere & use the same here to configure the endpoint.
So let’s see How to configure vSphere endpoint in vRA:
Login to the vRA using the tenant admin & Iaas admin user.
Go to Infrastructure tab.
Click on Green plus icon to add & configure endpoint.
Choose “vSphere (vCenter)” endpoint to configure vSphere endpoint.
Provide the endpoint details :
Name: This must be the agent name which we have set during the vRA installation.
Description: Description for your endpoint.
Credentials for the endpoint.
Click Test connection to test the connectivity of the credentials.
You will get the certificate warning so click OK to accept & continue.
If all of the details are correct you will see confirmation message that connection was successful.
Click OK to save to configuration.
You can see that Endpoint is configured successfully.
That’s it, Using this way you need to create the Endpoint of vSphere so that you can create resources in your vSphere environment.
