We are starting the all-new series of VMware Scenario-Based Interview Questions which are dependent on the various real-life scenarios in the vSphere environment. This post will help you to understand what kind of questions you can expect in the VMware Interviews. This is the first part of the series of VMware Interview Questions. We will be keeping 10 scenario based questions per Part So that it will be easy to understand.
During this time we are seeing very high resignations across the world or you can say movements of people from one organization to another across the world. So to be ahead of the other people you must be prepared well so you can clear the interview rounds & get your offer.

In this post we will only be posting the VMware Scenario-based Interview questions, For answers you have to research & study yourself which will help you to understand the different scenarios and it will improve your knowledge. You can take the help of your own environment, VMware Labs, Online blogs, or your own Test Labs to understand the scenarios.
These questions are taken based on the current scenarios in the future may change.
Question 1: Your VM is facing slow performance, How you will start your troubleshooting & which tools you will use for the same?
Question 2: What counters can be viewed to identify CPU Contention?
Question 3: You see ESXi host is in Not Responding state, What will be your next steps ?
Question 4: While putting ESXi host into Maintenance mode it gets stuck in between, How you will troubleshoot this ?

Question 8: How you will solve recurring slow performance issues on VM ?
Question 9: What is the command to restart management services in ESXi host ?
Question 10: During VM Migration, vMotion stuck in between, How you will troubleshoot this ?

Hello Mayur,
These questions are very well thought out and helpful to those of us who may already be in a VMware role too! Do you think there is any chance of posting an Answers section for Parts 1 through 5? I find that a lot of these are things I don’t even know the answer to and would like to learn more about (beyond the general answer of Googling it, but seeing the answers from a real-world expert’s opinions of the question with the answer/scenario examples).
