How to Configure vROPS Step by Step
VMware has announced vRealize Operations Manager 7.0 recently. vRealize Operations Manager comes 7 with the many new features which are very useful for day to day usage. vRealize Operations Manager delivers intelligent operations management with application-to-storage visibility across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures. Using policy-based automation, operations teams automate key processes and improve IT efficiency.
vRealize Operations Manager Deployment consists of 2 steps process. In first step we deploy OVF Template and in second step we configure and install vRealize Operations Manager.We have already deployed OVF Appliance in the previous post so in this post we will see on further deployment and configuration of vRealize Operations Manager.

How to Deploy vRealize Operations Manager Appliance Step by Step?
Let’s see How to Deploy and Configure vRealize Operations Manager:
Step 1:
After deploying the vRealize Operations Manager Appliace access the vROPS appliance by entering the vROPS Appliance IP address in the Browser URL:
For e.g.
https://vrops.masteringvmware.com (That’s my vROPS IP)
You will get the screen like this in which you will have 3 options go for Express Installation, New Installation or Expand existing. In out case we don’t have any existing so we will be going with the New Installation.
Click on New Installation.
Step 2:
Set the Admin user Password here and click Next.
Step 3:
If you have any custom certificate then you can install it from here or go with use default certificates.
Click Next.
Step 4:
Provide the vRealize Operations Manager Master Node name.
Provide the NTP server for vROPS time sync.
Click Next.
Step 5:
If you want to configure High Availability for vRealize Operations Manager, Then you can configure it here by providing existing node details.
But we don’t have any existing node, so click Next.
Step 6:
Click Finish to go for the Cluster configuration.
Once you click Finish you can see the below screen in which it is being initialized.
Step 7:
You will see the cluster status is not started. So click on the Start vRealize Operations Manager to start the cluster.
Step 8:
You will get prompt for First Application startup.Click YES to continue.
Step 9:
This is the first login screen you will see when you access the vROPS.
Use the admin user credentials to login.
Step 10:
After login you will see that there is small configuration is required to complete.
Click Next to continue.
Step 11:
Read and Accept the License agreement of vRealize Operations Manager.
Click Next.
Step 12:
You can enter your vRealize Operations Manager license key here or if you don’t have then you can go for product evaluation.Click Next.
Step 13:
You can join the VMware customer experience improvement program here.
Click Next.
Step 14:
This is the Final step. click Finish to complete the configuration.
Once you have successfully configured vRealize Operations Manager, you can login and see the below home screen:
That’s it, Using this way you can easily deploy and configure vRealize Operations Manager 7 in your environment.
