How to Integrate Active Directory in vRealize Operations Manager

vRealize Operations Manager provides access management where you can create a local users or you can use other authentication sources such as Open LDAP, Active Directory, SSO SAML, VMware Identity Manager. You can use any of the Authentication sources to import users and assign access to them. In this post we will see on How to Integrate Active Directory in vROPS.

Every organization has their own Active Directory for users management and permissions. So it is always best practices to configure Active Directory so that you can easily add users to vRealize Operations Manager.

So let’s see How to Integrate Active Directory in vRealize Operations Manager Step by Step:

Step 1:
Login to vRealize Operations Manager.
Go to Administration Tab.
Expand Access and select Authentication Sources.
Click on Green Plus icon to add authentication sources.

Step 2:
Provide the Display Name to identify.
Select the Source Type as Active Directory.
You can specify Integration Mode Basic or Advanced. We are going with Basic Mode.
Provide the Active Directory Details such as Domain Name, Username and Password.
Click on Test to test the connectivity with Active Directory.

If connection is successful you will get confirmation , click OK to close the prompt.

As you can see that We have successfully added Active Directory as authentication source.

That’s it, Using this way you can easily configure and add Active Directory Authentication source into vROPS easily.
