Install vSphere Replication Management Pack in vROPS
vSphere Replication as you all are aware as of now that used for replication of VMs. vSphere Replication does not have detailed monitoring features that will give you a complete insight into VM Replications. So in order to monitor VM replications, you can use the vSphere Replication Management Pack & install it in the vRealize Operations Manager. In this post, we will see How to Install vSphere Replication Management pack in vROPS.
vROPS as you all are aware the complete monitoring solution from VMware which gives you insight into your vSphere Infrastructure. vROPS supports the monitoring of Compute, Storage & Networking components in your datacenter. Using the available Management Pack you can configure monitoring of your environment. VMware has developed the Management pack of vSphere Replication so that you can easily get insight into your replications.

Below are some of the widgets you get from the vSphere Replication Management Pack in vROPS:
- Replication by Status
- Virtual Machine by Status
- Replication by Direction
- Incoming Replication
- Outgoing Replication
- Transferred bytes
- RPO Violations Count
- Replication Utilization Trend
- VM Utilization Trend
- Top 10 VMs by RPO violation
- Sparkline Chart
- Alerts List
So now let’s see How to Install vSphere Replication Management Pack:
Step 1:
First you must download vSphere Replication Management Pack from VMware Portal.
Step 2:
Login to vROPS.
Go to Administration Tab.
Select Repository under Solutions section.
Click on “ADD/UPGRADE”
Step 3:
Click on Browse to select the management pack.
Click Upload to import vSphere Replication Management pack in vROPS.
You will need to Browse & select the Downloaded Management Pack.
Step 4:
Upload will take few seconds to complete.
You will see that PAK file signature is valid so we are good to go ahead.
Click Next.
Step 5:
Read & Accept the license agreement.
Click Next to continue.
Step 6:
You will see that Management Pack installation has started. It will take few seconds to complete.
Once completed you will see that solution is being installed & completed.
Click Finish & save exit wizard.
Step 7:
vSphere Replication Management pack will be visible in Repository page.
Step 8:
Click on Add account to configure the Management pack to monitor vSphere Replication.
Step 9:
Provide the Name , Description & vCenter Server details.
Provide the credentials of vSphere Replication so that you can monitor it successfully.
Click Add.
Once you click Add you will see vSphere Replication Management Pack is added & status is showing as OK.
Using this way you can easily Install vSphere Replication Management Pack in vROPS. So that you can monitor your VM replications & get the reports of it. As of now this management pack does not require any additional license or cost so you don’t have to worry about any cost.
