How to Import AD users in vRealize Operations Manager
In the previous post we have successfully configured Active Directory as an Authentication Source in vRealize Operations Manager. Once you integrate AD in vROPS, You can easily import Active Directory users into vRealize Operations Manager. In this post we will see on How to Import AD users in vRealize Operations Manager.
By Importing AD users you can’t have to create users in vROPS, you can easily pull users from Active Directory.You can Import Active Directory users and assign permissions to them based on your requirement so that users will have only specific permissions instead of admin access.
Before Adding or Importing AD Users first you have to configure AD in vROPS:
How to Integrate Active Directory in vRealize Operations Manager ?
So Let’s see How to Import Active Directory users in vRealize Operations Manager:
Step 1:
Login to vRealize Operations Manager.
Go to Administration Tab.
Expand Access and select Access Control.
Click on the Import Users Icon.
Step 2:
Select the Import From Active Directory which you have configured.
Search the user by providing user name which you want to Add.
Select the user and click Next to continue.
Step 3:
Go to Objects Tab.
Here you have to assign permissions to the user.
Select the Role for the user you can make it admin or read only or whichever you want.
Click Assign this role to the user.
Under the Select Objects Add the Objects you want to assign with permission.
Click Finish to Import the user.
Step 4:
Now you can see that User is listed under the User Accounts.
Now when you login select the Active Directory from the Drop Down and provide credentials then Login.
Now you can verify by logging in using the users and assigned permissions. Using this way you can easily Import Active Directory users in vRealize Operations Manager and assign permissions to the users.
