How to Delete Environment in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager

In our previous posts we have learned about how to create environment, how to add products & how to upgrade products in vRealize Suite Lifecycle manager. In this post we will see on How to Delete environment in vRSLCM.

Deleting of environment is not the common task but at some cases it may require you to delete the complete environment in vRSLCM. So that you can setup & create new environment. Deleting of environment is irreversible tasks. so make sure to cross check twice before deleting the Environment from vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.

So let’s see how to delete environment in vRSLCM :

Step 1:
Login to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.

Install vRealize Suite Lifecycle manager

Step 2:
Select Lifecycle Operations under My Services.

Step 3:
Select Environments from left navigation bar.
Click Three Dots in your environment box as shown below.
Click on Delete Environment.

Step 4:
You will see the summary with products deployed under the Environment.

Step 5:
Click on the first checkbox which says Delete environment from vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
If you also want to delete those solution VMs from vCenter Server you can select second check box.
You need to provide your environment name to continue the operations.
Click Next to continue.

Step 6:
You will see the product VMs associated with the environment.
Click Delete to delete those VMs with the environment.

Step 7:
You will see Delete environment request has been submitted & in process.

It will take time based on your environment & it’s products.

Once all the steps are completed, Your environment is deleted from vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager as well as it’s associated VMs from the vCenter Server.

This operation is irreversible & once deleted it cannot be redeployed. Deletion of VMs from vCenter will permanently delete it. This action cannot be undone.

Note: This Delete Environment task we have performed in the LAB & do not perform it in the production environment without any approval or authorization.
