Create Environment in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager
vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager is used to deploy the vRealize suite products & solutions in your vSphere environment easily. So until now we have configured the product successfully & we are ready to create environment with the solution. So In this post we will see on How to Create Environment in vRSLCM.
In vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager you can create environment with all different vRealize Suite products easily so that you can manage them. vRSLCM makes your life easily to deploy, manage, patch & upgrade the environments. For using any vRealize suite products you must have to create environment which is specially designed process to deploy, setup & configure the solution in your vCenter Server.
In this post we will be deploying vRealize Operations using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager so that you can understand how step by step environment is created & deployed. You can also choose to go for multiple products at the same time if you have all the details & resources available.

So let’s see How to create environment in vRSLCM step by step :
Step 1:
Login to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
Step 2:
Go to Lifecycle Operations under My Services.
Step 3:
Select Create Environment from the left navigation bar.
Provide the Name for your environment & select the datacenter which you have already setup.
Click Next to continue.
Step 4:
Here you will see the available products which you can deploy using this wizard.
So you can select the single or multiple product.
We have selected vRealize Operations.
You can also select the version of each product & additional configure if you need.
Click Next to continue.
Step 5:
Read & accept the license agreement. click Next to continue.
Step 6:
Here we need to select the license for the product which we are deploying.
Click on Select button.
Step 7:
If you have already added the license into the vRSLCM than only it will be visible here.
Select the license & click Update.
Step 8:
License is selected. So click Next to continue.
Step 9:
Each solution you deploy in vRSLCM requires the certificate.
Select the certificate for the product which you are deploying. If you have not already setup certificate in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manger than you must first do it.
Select the certificate & click Next.
Step 10:
Here you need to provide your Infrastructure details such as vCenter, Cluster, Resource pool etc.
Provide all the details & click Next to continue.
Step 11:
Configure the networking for your product.
Setup default gateway, netmask etc properly so that your deployment doesn’t fail.
Click Next to continue.
Step 12:
Provide VM Name, FQDN & IP Address for your product.
Click Next to continue.
Step 13:
We are ready to start the deployment wizard but it is always best to precheck all the configuration so that we cannot face any issues later.
Click on RUN Precheck for our configured details.
Step 14:
It can take few minutes based on your environment. Once you see all tests have passed successfully you are good to go ahead.
If you want you can also Download the report.
Click Next to continue.
Step 15:
Here you can review the configuration & you can export all the configuration you have made into JSON file.
It is recommended to export configuration so that if anything fails you can upload this exported configuration file & make changes.
Click Submit to start the deployment.
Now the real deployment wizard has started & you can view that status of each steps being performed.
It will take time based on your resources & environment. Once all the steps are passed & deployment is successful you will get below screen.
Now you can go to Environment from left navigation bar to view & manage your environment.
You can see that our Environment is successfully deployed & configured.
That’s it, Using this way you can create environment in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager & deploy the vRealize Suite products. Creating of environment & deploying product is very different than you deploy individual product in your vCenter Server.
So if you are planning to deploy vRealize Suite in your environment it is always good to go with vRealize Suite lifecycle manager which makes your deployment, configuration & management easy instead of managing each products individually.
