How to configure Site Recovery Manager appliance & connect to vCenter Server

After deploying the Site Recovery Manager appliance you must configure the appliance & connect to vCenter Server to protect your virtual machines & use the disaster recovery of site recovery manager.

How to Deploy Site Recovery Manager ?

Now let’s see how to configure the site recovery manager appliance & connect to vCenter Server to protect your virtual machines:

Step 1:
Access the site recovery manager appliance using the browser & port 5480.
Login using the admin account.

Step 2:
You will see the Summary page here.
Click on the Configure Appliance to configure site recovery manager appliance.

Step 3:
Configuration wizard will open.
Provide the Platform service controller host name & credentials.
Click Next to continue.

You will see the certificate warning , click Connect to go ahead.

Step 4:
Here you will see the vCenter Server which are connected to the platform service controller provided in previous step.
Select the vCenter Server & click Next.

Step 5:
Provide your site details such as site name, administrator email for alert notification.
You can go with the Default extension.
Click Next to continue.

Step 6:
Review the configuration & click Finish to configure the connectivity with vCenter Server.

You will see the appliance is configuring the connectivity with vCenter Server:

It will just take few seconds to complete the configuration. Once the configuration is completed successfully you will see the Site details in the Summary page of SRM Appliance:

That’s it, Now you have configured the appliance & connected to the vCenter Server you can check in your vCenter Server that site recovery manager shortcut is configured.
