Configure Certificates in vRSLCM

Every product which you deploy or configure requires the SSL Certificate. You can use either CA provided or self signed certificate in your deployment. In this post we will see on How to Generate Certificates in vRSLCM.

As you already aware till now that vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager allows you to deploy various vRealize Products directly. So while deploying the each solution it requires certificates. vRSLCM allows you to store either CA provided certificate or you can also generate & configure self-signed certificate. We will see on how we can generate self-signed certificates in the vRealize Suite Lifecycle manager.

So let’s see How to Generate Certificates in vRSLCM:

Step 1:
Login to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.

Install vRealize Suite Lifecycle manager

Step 2:
Click on the Locker from the home screen.

Step 3:
First option certificates is already selected.
Here you will see 3 options Generate, Import & Generate CSR.
If you want to use custom CA Certificate than you can generate CSR from here & directly Import certificates.
We will Generate Self Signed certificate so click on Generate.

Step 4:
Here you must provide all the details for certificate.
Once you enter all the details click Generate.

Step 5:
Once you click Generate your certificate will be generated & listed.
Below you will see your certificate is created using provided details.

That’s it, Using this way you can easily generate & configure self-signed certificates for product deployment using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager. If your environment already has certificate authority setup so you can generate CSR from here & once certificate is available you can import directly to this portal.

Each product or solution you deploy from vRSLCM will require the certificate so you must have any one certificate present.
