How to assign license to vROPS ?

In this series of vRealize Operations Manager we have seen on how to install & configure vROPS for the first time & how to integrate vCenter Server into vROPS for monitoring your vSphere infra using vROPS. vROPS provides the complete overview of your vSphere infra by providing various views such as Performance, Health, Efficiency, & Risk.

In Paragraph AD

In this post we will see on how to assign license to vRealize Operations Manager. vROPS comes in 3 different types of licenses which are Standard, Advanced & Enterprise. All 3 type will allow you to monitor your vSphere Infra but if you compare then there are some of the advanced solutions & integrations which are available only in higher editions. So if you need you can check the license comparisons on the VMware website.

Assign license to vROPS 6 Step by Step :

Step 1:
Login to vROPS using browser.
Go to Administration section.


Step 2:
Choose Licensing option in the Right side.
You will see your evaluation licenses or if you have already assigned than that will be displayed here.
Click on green plus icon.


Step 3:
Here choose the product from first drop down.
Insert your license key here & click on Validate.


Step 4:
Once you click on Validate you will see the licensed information below.
Click Save to assign license.


Step 5:
Now you can see that your license is listed.
You can also get the information about license such as Capacity, Usage, Status & Expiry.



That’s it you have successfully assigned license to the vRealize Operations Manager.
