How to Configure NTP in ESXi ?

NTP is an Network Time Protocol which is used to sync the time with the NTP server whether it is local or outside. NTP is also used to set the correct time so that you can not have issues with the Time. So let’s checkout How to configure NTP in ESXi hosts.

Step 1:
Login to vSphere Web Client.

Step 2:
Click on the Hosts & Clusters.

Step 3:
Click on ESXi Server listed on Navigator Pane.
Click on the Manage Tab.
Click on the Settings.
Click on System > Time Configuration.


Step 4:
Click on the Edit button on the Right Side.
You will get the Time Configuration Window.

Step 5:
Click on radio button “Use Network Time Protocol (Enable NTP Client) .

Step 6:
NTP Service Status is stopped by default so Start the Service by clicking on the Start Button.
Choose the NTP Service Startup Policy.
In the NTP Server box Write the NTP Server Name according to your region.


Step 7:
Click OK to save & you will see that NTP Service is running & NTP server is listed.
