How to add additional HDD to Virtual Machine in VMware Workstation

Hello guys this post is for VMware LAB practice as because i don’t have that much hardware to setup VMware LAB so i am using VMware workstation for LAB. In this post i will show you how you can add additional HDD to Virtual Machine for other use.

So let’s see how to add additional storage to virtual machine using VMware Workstation.

How to add new HDD to Virtual Machine using VMware Workstation.

Step 1:
First open the VMware Workstation & choose the Virtual machine in which you want to add.
Click on Edit Virtual Machine settings.
Click on Add to add new HDD.

Step 2:
Choose the Option Hard Disk.
Click Next to proceed.

Step 3:
Choose the Disk Type.
You can leave it as it is & click Next to proceed.

Step 4:
Choose the First option to Create new virtual disk.
Click Next to proceed.

Step 5:
You can specify the Disk size you want to add.
You can also allocate all the disk space at the time of creation or leave it unchecked.
Click Next to proceed.

Step 6:
You can choose the Disk name & also provide the location where you want to save.
Click Finish to add.

That’s it you have successfully added the additional HDD to Virtual Machine.
